I had no problems regarding network lags though. PI uses hardware decoding and it simply raises delays in input to 120ms+ which is visible when you play. I had huge input latency issues with 4K -> But I think it was caused by the graphic card.
Use direct connection (in steamlink wifi/connection settings) and set HEVCīump to 2K/4K with statistics and check what happensįor me running 2K is almost zero difference regarding input latency (around 18ms vs 15 on full-hd) but overall visual experience is much better and richer. Make sure that you can run steamlink now with ok performance on full-hd with that adapter/cable (turn on detailed statistics to watch for lags)
Use HDMI output closer to the power input of your PI If you bought wifi adapter -> _be sure_ to turn the original wlan0 interface off (or rename your new wifi interface to wlan0, I'm turning it off).
Overclock GPU to 750 (better HEVC performance)īuy external wifi adapter capable of huge speed via usb3 (or use wire, I have wifi) - original wifi adapter has this huge peaks as you are describing I solved it within my end by using multiple stepsīump up GPU memory on your PI (I have 256, lower values could be useful too probably), default is 64 MB - needed for HEVC
